A note from the photographer (me): “People with periods have always faced societal shame for bleeding. As a random quote I found on Pinterest says, “Menstruation is the only blood that is not born from violence, yet it’s the one that disgusts us the most.” Hmm! Yo and let’s acknowledge the fact that not all women have periods, and not all people with periods identify as women. Cool.
